Every component in the setup contributes to rigidity. For a home observatory, I'd get a more solid mount, but the RST-135 is a winner for any non-fixed set up!Įdited by eshy76, 16 June 2021 - 08:02 AM. The mount combines the pick up and play convenience of a star tracker (internal battery aside) but with deceptively high payload capacity and with the (guided) performance of a mid-to-high end mount.ĭefinitely a keeper for someone like me. I'm sure I can improve this, but for my current imaging scale, it is absolutely fine and better than the 1-2" I used to image with on my old mount! I am working on guiding, and using the default guide rate of 1.0x and PHD2 multistar exposures of 0.5 secs gives me between 0.6-0.7" RMS guiding currently. I love not having to balance my widefield scope when loading it up and not fiddling with counterweights. Ease of use and set up are off the charts. The RST-135 is shockingly capable for its tiny weight.
#Starry night pro plus 6.0.3 upgrade#
I originally aimed to upgrade my iOptron CEM25P to something more solid like a CEM70, but I am so glad I thought about portability as I set up and tear down every clear night. I have had my RST-135 for a few months now and I just love it.
